Ever wonder what everyday life looked like a century ago? Join us for a fascinating presentation exploring the hidden “time capsules” beneath our feet. Learn about artifacts excavated from privies and outhouse pits across Western New York and what they reveal about the past. Topics include how to locate a privy, why people discarded household items there, the history of local glasshouses, and how to date antique bottles.The presentation includes a large display of artifacts such as bottles, chamber pots, clay smoking pipes, marbles, doll heads, coins, stoneware, china, and more.

Free Antique Appraisal Event:
2:00–4:00 pm
Registration is required to have an item appraised. One item per household. Items must be easily carried; no large furniture. Space is limited.

Excluded items:
• All weapons, including swords and knives
• Traps (such as leg-hold traps)
• Nazi memorabilia
• Coins and paper money
• Fine jewelry, including precious gems
• Beanie Babies
