In celebration of the United States’ 250th birthday, the City of North Tonawanda will be burying a new time capsule at City Hall on Thursday, July 23, 2026. This capsule is scheduled to be opened during the Tricentennial in 2076.
We are currently seeking small items and suggestions for inclusion. Planned items already include:

- Photos and artifacts from City Hall
- The 2026 NTHS yearbook

- Messages from seniors and community members
- North Tonawanda City Flag
On the same day we bury the new capsule, we will also be opening the 1976 time capsule currently located at the public library.
If you have items you would like to contribute, stop in or send a photo for consideration. contact [email protected] or [email protected].
We look forward to sharing our memories with the future residents of our city.
