Born among the vineyards of South Tyrol, where the Dolomites rise into the sky, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Bene (Benedikt Sanoll) has carved out his own distinctive space within the indie folk landscape with his project Timbreroots.

The project moves fluidly between solo performances, duo setups and full band arrangements, blending intricate fingerstyle guitar work, soaring vocal harmonies and atmospheric instrumentation into a sound that feels both intimate and cinematic while always staying rooted in the same emotional and sonic core.

“If I had to describe my music through a list of familiar ingredients to give a better impression of it, I’d put it like this:

A bit of layered harmonies à la Mumford & Sons or Jacob Collier, the intimacy of The Lumineers, the guitar work of Ben Howard and John Butler, the atmospheric depth of Coldplay and Bon Iver all combined with my own spirit of performing and sharing my stories and feelings live on stage, connecting with every kind-hearted human being.

And I do this because I think every person is like a single note with unique timbres and roots. When these notes come together in harmony, they create a sense of community where everyone can feel welcome and at ease and just enjoy life and love by forgetting the harsh realities of everyday life for just a moment.“

Discography &Touring

The journey began with the debut album Numen’s Dream (2023). That same year, Timbreroots reached the finals of the Italian competition Music for the Next Generation.

Following extensive touring, the project released a series of singles between 2024 and 2025 until the release of the 2nd album Heartbeat Chronicles (2025).

The album has surpassed 325,000 Spotify streams and received strong acclaim from audiences, curators and radio stations alike mainly from Germany, UK, Italy and Austria. Two songs of the album also participated at two contests:

“There‘s Still Light” got picked for Sonx2026 and „Madness” won the 2nd place at M4NG2024.

The completely independent and self organized Heartbeat Chronicles Tour has already brought the project across three countries with more than 30 shows in 18 cities.

While continuing to tour through 2026, Timbreroots are currently working on new material and preparing for a first UK tour in autumn 2026.

Two upcoming releases have already marked important milestones: Wind Rustles won the SONX Award 2026, while Take Me Back earned 2nd place at the UploadSounds Contest.
