We’re kicking off the rafting Kickoff Weekend with a special event at Wilderness Voyageurs on April 11 at 6:30 pm! Award-winning author and photographer Tim Palmer will present a slideshow with his book, Watching The River Run: A Photographic Journey Down The Youghiogheny.
New from the University of Pittsburgh Press, this book showcases 150 magnificent photos of the Youghiogheny River as seen in its popular state park at Ohiopyle and also throughout the stream’s length in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
This collection of stunning photos and informative narrative follows the 2023 update of Tim’s earlier book, Youghiogheny: Appalachian River, which has become a classic in the literature of Pennsylvania’s environment.
Staff from Mountain Watershed Association will also provide a short conversation about their work to protect the Youghiogheny River watershed.
