Tim Earley and Max Hipp will visit City Lights for a reading on Saturday, March 8th at 3pm. Tim will read from his new chapbook, "Rattle Rib", and Max from his latest book, "What Doesn't K*ll You Opens Your Heart".
Tim Earley is the author of five collections of poems, including "Poems Descriptive of Rural Life and Scenery" (Horse Less Press, 2014) and "Linthead Stomp" (Horse Less Press, 2016). His work has appeared in dozens of literary journals and anthologies. He is also the creator and lead writer for the tabletop roleplaying game, "Holler: An Appalachian Apocalypse" (Pinnacle Entertainment Group, 2023). A new digital chapbook, "Rattle Rib", is forthcoming from Garden-Door Press. Tim is a native of western North Carolina and lives in Asheville. He teaches online courses in creative writing and literature at the University of Mississippi.

Max Hipp is the author of "What Doesn’t K*ll You Opens Your Heart" (2024). His fiction has appeared in Southern Humanities Review, Cheap Pop, SmokeLong Quarterly, Black Warrior Review, and other literary journals. He is the recipient of a 2025 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Mississippi Arts Commission and teaches literature and creative writing at the University of Mississippi.
