Workshop Information

In the workshop, everyone will have the chance to make their own tile, firstly creating a design out of card and boards before using the board tile to make an imprint into the clay. You’ll get the chance to roll out and work with your own clay and learn how to press your design into the clay and how to cut out the tile shape ready for firing. 

The tiles will be dried, glazed and fired, with your finished product being available around 2-3 weeks after the workshop.

About Shelley Wood
Shelley’s work reflects our experiences and how each interaction with something new can help to shape you. Her decorative work often uses white earthenware clay which is made in to beautiful pieces each unique to its own journey and design. Each make is made using various layers of clay and processes and the surface of marks and patterns are created using Lino cuttings, mono printing, sgraffito and slab pressed reliefs with every layer representing a person’s emotional journey through a lifetime and every mark showcasing their uniqueness.
