Presented by Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church in downtown Kitchener, Ontario, and inspired by Celtic music traditions and time-honoured carols, this new work by Joseph Martin overflows with seasonal spirit. From prophecy to Epiphany, the cantata covers the entire Christmas story and wraps it in jubilant and approachable music. Supported by encouraging narration and dazzling orchestrations, this spectacular work will be a warm holiday welcome to your community of faith.Proceeds from our 2024 Christmas Cantata, will go to benefit our Historic St. Paul’s Affordable Housing development project.
The Historic St. Paul's Cantata Choir will be accompanied by the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra. This year's Christmas Cantata will be directed by current HSP music director Cameron Streicher. Cam graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor's in Music Education and Theory, and has extensive choral conducting experience working with anything from church choirs, community choirs, festival choirs; to various guest appearances with groups such as Laurier Alumni Choir and Chor Amica in London, ON. Through his directing, Cam aims for musical excellence while also focusing on the enjoyment and fulfilment that singing in a choir can provide.
