West Newbury Garden Club member Kathy Mandeville, who is both a master gardener and a nurse, will teach us best management practices to control mosquitoes and ticks and avoid the diseases they spread. She will also discuss how gardeners can protect against the rash and irritation caused by poison ivy.
Speaker Bio: Kathy, with a 39-year nursing career in New Hampshire, served in various public health roles. She became a master gardener in New Hampshire but then transferred her certification to Massachusetts after she moved to West Newbury in 2012. She achieved Principal Master Gardener status in 2023. In 2024, she was honored with the MA Federation of Garden Club’s Unsung Hero Award for her dedication to the West Newbury club.
