Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Course
About this Event
Overview
Analytical meditation is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice that uses careful reflection to examine a subject and gradually develop a deeper understanding of it.
Each class introduces a new topic through teaching, reflection and group discussion, giving you the opportunity to explore the ideas and ask questions.
You will then receive a guided audio meditation to practise at home during the week. This allows you to move beyond understanding the teaching intellectually and begin integrating it into your own experience.
What You’ll Learn
Throughout this Buddhist meditation course, we’ll explore foundational teachings from the Mahayana Buddhist tradition drawn from the Lamrim—the graduated path to enlightenment—with a focus on how they can be applied in daily life.
This wisdom tradition is deeply practical, offering tools to grow kindness, insight and compassion. By understanding the mind and the nature of our experience, we begin to uncover the wisdom and care already present within us.
The Lamrim arranges these teachings in a structured and progressive sequence, with each topic providing a foundation for the next.
Topics in this course include:
• The value of a precious human life
• Understanding the eight worldly concerns
• Reflecting on impermanence and death
• The law of karma and the power of purification
• Recognising and transforming samsaric suffering
• Working with anger and cultivating patience
• Understanding attachment and letting go
• Developing equanimity, kindness and compassion
• Integrating the path into daily life
Whether you are new to meditation or seeking to deepen your existing practice, this course invites you to reflect, inquire, and connect with a path of inner transformation.
