Thursday Talk: Bloody Bill Cunningham, South Carolina’s Revolutionary War Mass Murderer

Rev. Paul Wood takes the audience through the 1781 “Bloody Scout” mission led by Revolutionary War Loyalist William “Bloody Bill” Cunningham. No one has murdered more South Carolinians. Rev. Wood’s research and new biography of Cunningham allow him to explain what drove Cunningham and his men to K*ll unarmed men and to destroy dozens of farms and mills. We will learn how his Loyalist militia could K*ll dozens of people in only a few weeks’ time and learn how General Andrew Pickens brought the killing spree to a belated conclusion.
