Are you ready to put your brain to the test?
Join us in person for Thursday Night Trivia! Gather your friends, enjoy some laughs, and challenge yourself with fun questions across all kinds of topics. It's a perfect way to spice up your Thursday night and maybe even snag some bragging rights.
This event is to raise money for a children/youth project in Akosombo Ghana, for Wood World Missions Charity ( registered UK charity number : 1084001)
Introduced to support wellbeing within the community in Akosombo, to aid the Wood World Missions Akosombo School, Technical Vocational School and local community.
A football pitch, basketball court, volleyball court along with essential playground items were constructed to create a base standard space in which the children could play.
A group of us are returning this year in order to upgrade the facilities, conduct workshops like basketball, arts and crafts and photography, passing on skills, knowledge and creating memorable experiences for the children.
Along with the upgrading of the playground the following works that needs to be completed includes :
- the building of new 3 bed hostel for further accommodation on site
- a cooking pavilion to replace the current outdoor cooking space which is unsafe, and not sustainable for standard living conditions
- building a retaining wall to stop the overflow of rainwater due to the hill nature of the site
- upgrade the football to Astro turf to reduce harsh maintenance requirements on the children
- extension of current play ground, through the creation of a soft play sand area to include the slide, merry-go-round and other smaller playground items/equipment
- the buying of floodlights for the football/basketball area to ensure safe playing conditions
- the upgrading of fence around the current playground.
- refurbishment of the swimming pool
The overall project fundraising goal is £35,000. So far we have received £16,000 from direct donations, we would like to raise the rest via crowdfunding (£15,000) and various fundraising events throughout the summer (£4,000) such as this one!
