Oakland Rotary #3 is proud to welcome Bill Sokol, renowned labor lawyer, educator, and longtime legal commentator, for an engaging Civic Thursday program on the Supreme Court.
Sokol is a senior partner at the nation’s largest union-side law firm, representing over 400 labor organizations and benefit funds. He has litigated in state and federal courts, served as counsel in collective bargaining, and has decades of experience in labor law and arbitration.
In addition to his legal career, Sokol has taught at UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and other Bay Area institutions, and is well known to many as a radio host and legal analyst on KPFA and KQED.
Drawing on his deep expertise in law, history, and politics, Sokol will offer unique insights into the role of the U.S. Supreme Court today—and what its decisions mean for labor, civil rights, and American democracy.
