About this Event
Join us for the statewide launch of United Against Hate Week, hosted by California vs Hate, Oakland Roots and Soul Sports Club, Not In Our Town, Toishan Benevolent Association, and community partners. This year, the coalition is excited to unveil "Together, We Rise," a new mural that weaves Oakland’s cultural landmarks, communities, and symbols of peace together into a powerful vision of unity.
The event will kick off with a press conference bringing statewide and local leaders together with the community to rally for hope, action, and vigilance in the fight against hate.
United Against Hate Week (UAHW) is a call for local civic action to stop the hate, discrimination, and implicit biases that negatively impact our diverse communities, neighborhoods, and cities. This year, UAHW will take place across the country between October 19 and 25. Check out the UAHW event calendar to learn more about upcoming activations in your area or to sign up to participate.
"Together, We Rise" was made possible by Oakland Roots and Soul Sports Club, Service West, San Jose Sharks, Oakland Ballers, California vs Hate, and Toishan Benevolent Association.
