Youth ages 5-17 can join us for USAT Sanctioned swim, bike, and run event! All participants will receive a t-shirt, challenge coin, and a race bag full of goodies.
Kids will be placed in the age group according to their age on Dec. 31, 2026. For example, if your child turns 11 in November, they will race against 11–12-year-olds on race day (even if they are 10 right now). Youth can participate individually or as part of a relay team (swimmer, cyclist, or runner).
Race leg distances:
Ages 5-10: 50-yard swim, 3-mile bike, and .5-mile run.
Ages 11-17: 200-yard swim, 6-mile bike, and 1 mile run.
The goal of the Thunderbolt is to get kids more active, provide an opportunity to engage in the sport of triathlon, have fun, and be a part of something amazing. Awards will be presented to age group winners and overall winners in each race as well as top relay teams.
Costs:
Individual: $35
Relay Team: $65
*Youth with diagnosed disabilities which could be fairly and reasonably addressed with an accommodation can participate for free using the coupon code "BoltChampion" at registration.
