Thugshop x Unmute Presents: Never Tooo Loud with Mari Sakurai

Mari Sakurai joins us as the special guest for the first Never Tooo Loud of 2026, opening a new season at Headquarters with her unmistakable presence behind the decks. Based in Tokyo, she is known for a style that moves confidently through genres while keeping techno at its core. Her sets are powerful, sharp and thrilling, earning her a leading place in Tokyo’s current dance music landscape.

Mari performs across a wide spectrum of spaces, from intimate underground rooms to major outdoor festivals. Her appearances span platforms such as Whole Festival, Boiler Room, MUTEK, Rinse FM, NTS Radio and Refuge Worldwide. Alongside her touring work, she plays an active role in shaping her local scene through projects including the queer rave SLICK, the forward leaning party KILLIAN and PYRO, where she serves as organiser and resident.

To open this edition, VAIBS sets the pace in the cage before Mari takes over the night. Upstairs, Never Tooo Loud regulars Dez and 3MZY bring their own energy to the floor, rounding out both rooms for our first gathering of the year.
