Dust off your corsages, dig out the questionable formalwear, and get your dancing shoes on! In honor of my 31st birthday, we’re throwing it all the way back with a vintage PROM!
Come dressed like you’re headed to the biggest dance of your high school career: satin dresses, skinny ties, sequins, awkward boutonnieres, elbow length gloves, side bangs, terrible tans, rented tux energy—the whole nine.
**Thrifted/Re-used attire encouraged**
There will be drinks, dancing, photos, questionable music choices, and absolutely no requirement that your date be home by midnight. In fact, you don't need a date at all!
Just like your OG prom, there are some friendly guidelines:
- $25 entry fee that will be waived IF you meet the dress code of traditional prom attire. Suits and dresses, pant suits and crowns. You all know exactly what I mean!
- This will be in a bar, so no outside beverages will be allowed.
- Nobody under the age of 21 will be allowed through the doors, this is for people that are no longer able to attend a high school prom unless they're volunteering to chaperone.
- Corsages & boutonnieres encouraged. Bonus points for unnecessarily elaborate ones.
- Song requests encouraged. Especially songs you absolutely would have screamed on a dance floor at 17.
- Prom Royalty will be crowned. Campaigning, bribery, and shameless self-promotion encouraged. (but mostly your prom attire and vibes on the dance floor will be considered.)
