Join us for 'Through Their Eyes' — a powerful afternoon of film, conversation, and healing, centered on the untold impact of incarceration on children and families. The event features filmmaker and advocate Autumn Mason, whose deeply personal film explores what happens to children when their parents are behind bars — and what it takes to keep families connected despite the walls between them.
Following the screening, Starling Thomas (poet, filmmaker, and artist-in-residence) will moderate a heartfelt discussion with Autumn, her mother, and her sister, offering three generations of perspective on how incarceration ripples through family life — and how love and advocacy become forms of resistance.
This open studio invites Houston’s justice-impacted mothers, daughters, fathers, siblings, supporters, and community orgs to come together for reflection, dialogue, and connection. Through storytelling, we honor resilience and imagine what freedom can look like when families heal together.
