About this Event

Dick Fortune and Sara Lopez proudly present a collection of fine art images showcasing their passion -- nature photography

An eye for detail is evident in their work that showcases natural behavior of their subjects in their natural habitat. Combining over five decades of field experience in remote destinations, their imagesa re mostly taken of subjects in natural habitats without commercial distractions.

This collection of select images is their humble way of sharing the natural beauty around us. Capturing inspiring images has evolved into a life's mission to share the breathtaking beauty found in wild places.

Their work is an invitation to see the extra-ordinary in the ordinary, hoping that their photographs inspire you to look a little closer, appreciate a little more, and feel a deeper connection to the magnificent world around us.

Many of their published works will be on display at The Sanibel Community House commencing November 25th at 4:30pm and lasting through December 31st, 2026.

From Dick & Sara:

These high-resolution archival giclee photographs selected for this exhibit were captured during countless photography journeys, both locally around Sanibel, Florida, and distant destinations. Our shared passion for nature, wildlife, and travel spans decades -- beginning long before Sara and I first met in Miami. Following an 18-year separation, our common goals reunited us, with photography serving as a powerful bond that cemented our relationship. While our artistic visions are aligned, our individual styles remain distinct and personal. This shared journey has truly been an adventure in itself, often pushing the limits of airline weight restrictions and baggage allowances with our long lenses and heavy camera gear. We hope these images prove that every effort was worth it.

To do justice to these moments, each piece in this exhibit is produced as a limited-edition, signed print on archival matte canvas. Epson 24" wide format professional inkjet printer disperses 10 individual archival pigment-based inks at a 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution delivering museum-grade quality with exceptional color precision. Roller appled archival varnish (Breathing Color, the gold standard for quality prints) coats each piece for a non-reflective protective finish that captures rich shadow depth and brilliant highlights, completely eliminating the need for glass. Mounted securely on acid-free backing fro structural rigidity, these works are built to preserve the raw, enduring beauty of the natural world.

Our mounted prints were custom framed by Cathy and Paul Cola (owners of 50% Framing in Ft. Myers/Cape Coral), a family-owned business specializing in custom conservation style picture framing and memorabilia.

Thank you for visiting our exhibit at The Sanibel Community House this Holiday Season. A shared 25% of the proceeds from this exhibit will be donated to Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva Chapter and to Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW), two worthy organizations dear to our hearts.

Wishing you and yours a safe and joyous Holiday.
