About this Event
Finding the right volunteers — and keeping them — is one of the biggest challenges for small community organisations. This workshop gives you practical, realistic strategies to attract new people, create a welcoming culture, and build a sustainable committee that doesn’t burn out.
We’ll explore how to write compelling role descriptions, use low‑cost recruitment approaches that work in a small town, and support volunteers through the full lifecycle from onboarding to recognition. You’ll also learn simple, effective ways to plan for succession so your organisation stays strong, even as people move on.
Whether you’re rebuilding your volunteer base or strengthening what you already have, this session will give you tools you can put into action straight away.
A free lunch is provided.
The fourth workshop in the Thriving Maryborough series, presented by Committee for Maryborough and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal.
