In this hands-on class, students will embark on a creative journey of transformation by selecting an unattractive framed artwork from a local thrift store. The challenge is to repurpose the piece, breathing new life into it through either adding to the existing image or completely reimagining it into something entirely new. Whether by layering vibrant paint or mixed media, students will learn how to work with pre-existing compositions and materials, finding inspiration in the overlooked or forgotten. The class will encourage experimentation and innovation, with each student leaving with a unique, personalized piece of art that tells its own story of rebirth and creative expression.

Students should either bring a piece of framed work (original or print) or be bring a $5 suggested donation to cover the cost of works collected by our staff.
