About this Event
Why do people approach life so differently—some striving to improve it, others trying to transcend it, and still others seeking something deeper altogether?
In this talk, we’ll explore three fundamental worldviews found across cultures and traditions: action, awareness, and affection. These correspond to the classical paths of karma, jñāna, and bhakti—each offering a distinct way of understanding reality and our place within it.
We’ll examine how the action-oriented seek fulfillment through results, how the awareness-driven turn inward to detach from illusion, and how the affection-centered discover a deeper, relational dimension of truth.
Drawing from the Bhagavad Gita, we’ll also see how these are not just competing philosophies, but stages of human development—and how the path of bhakti uniquely integrates action and awareness while remaining accessible to all, regardless of background or qualification.
Whether you're driven by achievement, reflection, or a search for meaning, this talk offers a framework to better understand yourself—and the next step forward.
Hi 🙋♂️ I’m Chandra, (AKA )
I began my journey into the spirituality of the East over 30 years ago. Since then I have spent many years studying Vedic philosophy in ashrams around the USA and India. I have been teaching topics such as karma, Ayurveda, the guṇas of yoga, meditation, kirtan, Bhagavad Gītā, and so on.
My teaching journey has led me to speak at many universities, multinational companies, yoga studios, retreats, and in humble settings of homes and 12-step programs. Teaching is my passion, helping others help oneself is what inspires me.
