Join Hussein Mitha for three sessions on Palestinian liberation, tools for resistance and production of revolutionary material.
The sessions will focus on:
Session 1 | 26th October, 6-8pm - Reading the Palestinian Resistance
A reading and study group on the Palestinian resistance. We will be reading and discussing extracts from Mahmoud Darwish, Leila Khaled, Abdaljawad Omar, Ghassan Kanafani, Lamia Ziadé, Fadwa Tuqan, Soha Bechara and more...
Session 2 | 16th November, 6-8pm - Writing the end of Zionism
Using tools from anticolonial, abolitionist and revolutionary sci fi, speculative fiction and theory, participants will respond to writing prompts that imagine the chain of events that leads to the end of Zionism, and the downfall and abolition of all borders and carceral regimes.
Session 3 | 30th November, 6-8pm - Making Art for Revolution
Using prompts from "The Cultural Intifada," as well as material from the previous two workshops, participants will put their artistic, poetic and creative skills towards the production of revolutionary slogans, posters, and collages.
Materials for all three sessions will be provided during the session, no prior reading is required. Participants are welcome to contribute and share as much or as little as they would like without pressure. There will be 10 min comfort breaks midway through each session.
