THREADS : THE NEXT STEP ON YOUR AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL JOURNEY
About this Event
For those who have already started on the autobiographical journey and are looking for a place where they can take it to the next stage.
Memoir writing is rarely a straightforward process. Each idea you commit to the page can lead to many others, meaning pages of notes and books full of thoughts and ideas. Building a meaningful narrative can be difficult – life is complex, writing about yours can bring its own trials.
With plenty of writing time and space for sharing and discussion, the sessions will use inspirational materials to kickstart the creative process. Participants will be given the chance to share ideas and inspiration, while developing their storytelling. The course will bring theory, prompts and a safe, open forum to share your thoughts and your work.
Lead by Gerard Winter-Hughes, creative director of The Word Association, this ten week course is open to all. Gerard brings a wealth of experience from a long career in magazine publishing, where he enjoyed many years in a variety of roles, telling stories through words, images and creative use of the page. His recent work has increasingly focussed on themes of memory and nostalgia, and some of this will be utilised on the course.
Sessions will take place at The Hive, Worcester from 12.30-2.30 on a Friday, from 12th June - 14th August inclusive
