THREAD AND ROSES
About this Event
Embroidery can be used for image making, visible mending, text, multimedia collage, and even to create 3-D forms. Participants will begin with this session learning a 'vocabulary' of traditional embroidery stitches, making samplers to practice a variety of line, texture, images, and techniques. In the second half of the workshop, participants will apply what they've learned to create a wearable patch. We will learn some transfer techniques and how to stitch text. Patches could be an image or a political statement. Any level of experience is welcome.
