Michigan native Vincent Hayes has earned his stripes as a 25-year veteran of the blues and roots music scene. His guitar-driven rock, blues and funk-fueled anthems are as real and gritty as it gets, with infectious hooks, potent messages and honest-to-the-core vocals.
Hayes and his band received one of the highest honors from the Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN with a 2011 Blues Music Award Nomination for “Best New Artist”, initiating Hayes into the world’s upper echelon of modern blues guitarists.
Proceeds of the show will benefit the Killer Blues Headstone Project as well as to support a 2026 West Michigan Killer Blues Festival in Muskegon!
The Killer Blues Project was founded in 1997 by local blues lover Steve Salter. On his way through Chicago, Steve decided to stop at a couple of cemeteries in an area known for the resting places of several blues artists he knew and loved. He was greatly shocked to find that many blues artists had no markers on their graves. It was at that point he decided to do something about it – the rest is history.
The mission of the Killer Blues Headstone Project is to provide headstones for blues artists lying in unmarked graves. Since its inception the project has helped fund and place over 170 headstones in16 states.
The West Michigan Killer Blues Festival is currently in the planning stages and a small group of dedicated blues fans are working hard to present the festival in 2026.
