The Thomanerchor (St Thomas' Choir) is the resident choir of the Thomaskirche (the Church of St Thomas) in Leipzig, Germany, and has embellished worship in that church with its captivating sound for over 800 years. Consisting of boys aged 9 to 18, the Thomanerchor provides a home and education for its singers throughout their time as a member, and has been directed by some of great musicians in the history of the region, including, from 1723 to 1750, Johann Sebastian Bach. Today, they continue to bring his music to life with the same precision and expressive depth that he once demanded of his singers, and here at Princeton University we’re incredibly excited to be able to welcome them to campus for a free concert on Friday March 7th, in the beautiful surroundings of the University Chapel.
The concert is unticketed, so be sure to arrive early to get a good seat. We look forward to welcoming you!
