Concert at Troldhaugen
08 September – 13 September
Tuesday to Sunday every day
10:15, 12:00 and 14:00
Enjoy an intimate and vivid performance by young award winning pianists: Edvard Grieg’s music takes on an entirely new depth when you experience it in the very place where it was composed. A concert at his home Troldhaugen makes it even clearer why this setting still feels like a key to understanding – and coming closer to – his music.
Olga Jørgensen, of Norwegian-Polish background, is a highly sought-after pianist and chamber musician. She is educated at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Jørgensen has appeared as a soloist with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed at venues such as the University Aula in Oslo, Troldhaugen in Bergen, Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room at Southbank Centre, Steinway Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, and St John’s Smith Square.
She has performed at festivals including the Risør Chamber Music Festival, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, the Hemsing Festival, the Johan Halvorsen Music Festival, the Oxford Lieder Festival, and the Victoria International Arts Festival in Malta. She has won several awards, including First Prize at the St Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition, the Malta International Music Competition, and the Yamaha Music Scholarship for Scandinavia.
Jørgensen is also a highly regarded accompanist. Alongside an active freelance career, she works as an accompanist at the Barratt Due Institute of Music and the Norwegian Academy of Music.
