Where We're Going
- Intro Riders: Please give the C Group a try! If not, then join us just for the clinic.
- C Group: Pink-and-Green 22
- B Group (31): South Blount
- A1/A Groups (39):Allegheny
Visit the links above to see the turn-by-turn routes and to download .FIT files for your GPS device (if you have one).
Note: If you are not sure which group to join, my suggestion is to start with the group that has less distance or a more casual pace. Then the next time you'll have a better idea of what to expect and can adjust accordingly.
When and Where We Start
Below are rollout times and locations. Check In begins 15 minutes prior to rollout so please come at least 15 minutes earlier than the times listed below.
- All groups: 10 AM from Cycology Bicycles
What to Expect
- Traffic in town for the first few miles.
- Don't forget to stay off of the road when regrouping, where possible.
What to Bring and Wear
- Fuel and hydration (with electrolytes) for on-the-bike. The shop sells Skratch if you need electrolytes.
- Dress for the weather. Wear high vis fabric where possible.
- Head light and tail light so you can be more visible to cars.
- $ if you plan to join others for a snack or lunch afterwards!
REMINDERS:
How Long It May Take
Depending on each group's pace, distance, and roll out time, the time when each group completes a ride differs. Also add an extra 30 minutes for short breaks and possible mechanical difficulties. In general, you can expect the following paces:
- Introductory Group: For those new to road riding or getting back into riding, very casual but instructive
- C Group (8-10 mph): For those who wish to ride a casual pace
- B1 Group (11-12 mph): For those wishing to ride the B group route but at a more casual pace
- B Group (13-14 mph): For the peppier B group riders who want to go further distances than the C group and at a bit faster pace
- A1 Group (14-15 mph): For those riding the A group route but at a more casual pace
- A Group (16-17 mph): For intermediate-advanced riders
