This Place Is Special

Join us in person for This Place Is Special - An Educational Fundraver & Guided Sacred Site Hike! Celebrating the history of the the Mahicantuk Valley and its first people. We have experts like founder of the Algonquin Cultural Center and author of Native New York - Evan Pritchard sharing about the history of the land and the spirituality of the first people of the land. We also have expert Archeo-Astronomer, outdoor guide and Author of Spirits in Stone Glenn Kreisberg speaking on the sacred sites of the Valley and the work he's doing to help protect sites. Kevin Halcott aka Indras Net will also be speaking about the Spiritual and Cultural history of the Valley over time and why he thinks "This Place Is Special". He'll be releasing a book this fall of that very title exploring what makes this land and all those who have lived here drawn to its beauty, power, abundance and comort.

Then we dance with some of the Valleys fun and eclectic purveyors of music and nightlife.

RONNIE STONE spinning the headlining set of the night alongside DJ HUEMAN and DJ AKASHIC BRUNCH bringing you local organic realness. More tba!

Then Saturday tap in with us for a guided hike to a Woodstock located Sacred Site a ceremonial stone landscape from thousands of years ago that is spread and unprotected throughout the land. Wear hiking shoes, bring water and snacks as it's a 2 hour round trip. The proceeds from this event will be going to the Overlook Mountain Center as well as another first peoples cause of the speakers selection.

Info: We Meet at Sunshine Market in Woodstock for a guided hike and carpooling encouraged short ride to a safe and easy guided educational hike to a sacred landscape featuring all the authors listed. Bring hiking, shoes, water, and a little snack as this guided hike is about a 2-hour round trip on your feet.
