League members, along with their friends, family, and the general public, are invited to a special program that marks the launch of our League’s 2025-26 “Restoring Democracy” series. The program will begin with a 3-member panel of community members representing diverse perspectives, including a young professional woman, an individual who mentors OSU students from immigrant farmworker families, and a local business owner. Each will briefly share what democracy means to them.
The panel will be followed by our keynote speaker, political scientist Dr. Mary Follo, who teaches at OSU and specializes in American Politics and Public Policy. Her presentation will focus on the three branches of government – how they’re designed to work and how they’re working now – and other foundations of our democracy that are at risk.
The program will also include opportunities for networking and for attendees to participate in small group discussions in response to what they’ve heard. Light refreshments will be served.

Don’t miss this important opportunity to learn and to gather ideas for taking action to restore our democracy at the local, state, and national levels.
