THIS IS THE YEAR Q&A with Gloria Munoz and Vanessa Montalban

Spellbound Bookstore is proud to host Gloria Munoz, in conversation with author Vanessa Montalban, to celebrate the release of THIS IS THE YEAR, This dazzling YA cli-fi written in prose and verse will speak to any reader struggling with the state of our world and how to understand their place in it.

PLEASE NOTE: General admission for this event is completely free, however a copy of THIS IS THE YEAR must be purchased from Spellbound Bookstore in order to join the signing line (choose the Signed Copy ticket option at checkout). Books will be handed out at the event.

Additionally, there will be limited quantities of Gloria's books available at the event for purchase should you decide to join the signing line on the day of the event. These will be available first come, first serve while supplies last. When you sign in, let the staff know you'd like to purchase a copy to get signed (copies must be purchased at the register before you join the signing line).

There will also be limited copies of books by Vanessa Montalban available! Pick up a copy at the register and join the signing line to get it signed by Vanessa.

CANCELLATIONS

Can't make the event or have to cancel for some reason? Don't worry, if you choose the Signed Copy ticket option we will get your copy signed at the event and will hold it at Spellbound for up to 2 weeks! For a personalized signature, you must be present at the event.

If you're no longer able to make it to the event, please cancel your ticket through EventBrite (find the original email sent by EventBrite to cancel). If there is a Wait List this also ensures that your spot is released to the next person.

AGENDA

6:30PM-7:00PM - Sign in at the register. There will be some instructions given regarding the signing line. The Staff will hand over your book(s), if applicable, and direct you to find a seat.

7:00PM - Conversation begins.

7:30PM - Book signing begins.

About Gloria Munoz

Gloria Muñoz is the author of Your Biome Has Found You and Danzirly, which won the Ambroggio Prize and the Florida Gold Medal Book Award for Poetry. She is an Academy of American Poets Poet Laureate Fellow, a Hedgebrook Fellow, a Macondista, a Highlights Foundation Diverse Verse Fellow, and a part of Las Musas. About Vanessa Montalban

Miami-born Vanessa Montalban channels her wanderlust for far-off worlds into writing young adult fiction, including A Tall Dark Trouble, winner of the Florida Book Awards in the YA category.
She’s a first-generation college graduate, and is hard at work creating a collection of stories. Her work has appeared in Diabolical Plots and Entropy Magazine, and her newest novel These Vengeful Wishes is coming spring 2025.
