- - About This Is The Omen - -
'THIS IS THE OMEN' is a product of the buzzing Brussels Jazz Scene. A quartet focusing on captivating motifs and melodies played by trumpet and tenor saxophone, supported with pushing bass and drums. This quartet lacks harmonic instruments for a reason, allowing the horns and bass to fully utilize their respective frequency range. 'THIS IS THE OMEN' draws the listener to bath in its signature sound: dark, spiritual, pushing, energetic, captivating and above all: with story-telling intentions.
Inspiration is drawn from The Comet is Coming, Nubya Garcia and Christian Scott.
The in March 2025 self-released debut EP 'Future is a Fantasy' marks the beginning of 'THIS IS THE OMEN's journey through a broad jazz-landscape. They are recent finalists of the Concours Circuit 2025 which will take place in December in Botanique. A promising band to keep an eye on !
