NBCO is back for our next Fall Salon Series, "This is America"!
What does it mean to be “American,” living in a place filled with a wide variety of cultures, people, and experiences? The beautiful fusion and chaotic clashing of our collective differences have been the inspiration for many composers. Building on our previous Spring Salon Series “Salon Americana,” we are moving from nostalgic Americana music to now focus on what it means to be “American".
In this free Salon series, the NBCO string quartet explores it all: the beauty, the pain, the chaos, and the harmony of what it's like to be an American. Composers in our upcoming salon include Florence Price, Phillip Glass, Rhiannon Giddens, George Gershwin, and a premiere by Jorge Taberés.
