Thirty Harvests: An Evening with Gróf Degenfeld Wine Estate
About this Event
Thirty years. Thirty harvests. Each one a decision made in the vineyard, carried through the cellar, and poured into the glass.
Gróf Degenfeld returned to Tarcal in 1996 — one of the first estates to rebuild after the Communist era, farming the volcanic hillsides of Tarcal and Mád with a conviction that Tokaj deserved better. Thirty harvests later, their 35 hectares are fully organic, their historic Terézia and Zomborka sites among the finest in the region, and winemaker Sulyok Balázs has built one of Tokaj's most compelling dry wine programs alongside the sweet classics.
This evening is about that other side. Most people know Tokaj for Aszú — and rightly so. But dry Furmint with the tension and minerality of loess and volcanic bedrock, Hárslevelű with structure and length — these are wines that deserve their own evening. With one sweet chapter at the end to put thirty harvests in context.
Máté Tóth, estate director at Gróf Degenfeld, joins us in person to guide the evening. Snacks are paired alongside. Places are limited.
