Third Thursdays Poetry: June

M.P. Carver is a poet and visual artist from Salem, MA. She is Director of the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, miCrO-Founder of Molecule: a tiny lit mag, and teaches at Salem State University. Her work has been published or is forthcoming in Rattle, Nixes Mate, and Mantis, among others. She has received funding or fellowships from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Disquiet International, the Essex Community Foundation, and the T.S. Eliot House. In 2023 her poem "In Vitro" was named a finalist in the Connecticut River Review's Experimental Poetry Contest, and in 2022 her poem “You & God & I” was awarded the New England Poetry Club’s E.E. Cummings Prize. Her chapbook, Selachipmorpha, was published by Incessant Pipe in 2015, and a chapbook with Lily Poetry Review Books, Hard Up, is available now. More at mpcarver.com.

Hannah Larrabee's Wonder Tissue won the Airlie Press Poetry Prize and her newest chapbook—The Observable Universe—is out from Lily Press and was long-listed for a Massachusetts Book Award. Hannah wrote poetry for the Webb Space Telescope program at NASA. Language Erratics, her Arctic Circle Residency collaboration with artist Jacinda Russell, will be on view at The Poetry Center in Tucson in August 2026. She lives in Salem, Massachusetts.

Kali Lightfoot is a queer poet living in Salem, MA. Her poetry has appeared in journals and anthologies, and been nominated for Pushcart prizes and Best of the Net. Her first collection, Pelted by Flowers, was named a “Must Read” by the Massachusetts Center for the Book. Big Band Night at the Good Life Bar is her second full-length collection. She earned an MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts, 2015.

Diana Whitney is a queer writer & educator embracing a fierce belief in the power of poetry as a means of connection to self and others. She is the editor of the bestselling anthology You Don’t Have to Be Everything: Poems for Girls Becoming Themselves, winner of the Claudia Lewis Award, and the author of three full-length poetry collections: Wanting It, Dark Beds, and Girl Trouble (just released by CavanKerry Press). Her essays, poems, and book reviews have appeared in the New York Times, the Kenyon Review, the San Francisco Chronicle, Glamour, and other outlets. An advocate for survivors of sexual violence in her Vermont hometown and beyond, Diana works as a developmental editor and a community organizer for a rural LGBTQ+ nonprofit. www.diana-whitney.com
