Ellie and Lucie were thrown together during the pandemic and brought their shared interests in history, culture, art and exploration together as they embarked on a journey to teach themselves metal detecting and discover the hidden history in the ground we tread. As they learned to read the landscape – and like every detectorist – search for treasure in many forms, their adventures, blending history and memoir, have given rise to a slew of finds spanning thousands of years of history.

Known online as @RomanFound, Ellie and Lucie have established an incredible online community of history enthusiasts, detectorists, and anyone interested in hidden stories and human connections who follow their travels, digs and discoveries.
