Join us at Cyprus House for a special Artist-Led Curated Tour of THERE IS AN ISLAND III, a major group exhibition curated by the Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in London.

This guided tour offers visitors the opportunity to experience the exhibition through the voices of the artists themselves. Participating artists will guide audiences through the galleries, sharing insights into their creative processes, materials and the stories behind their works.

THERE IS AN ISLAND III brings together 22 British Cypriot artists living and working in the United Kingdom. Through painting, photography, textiles, ceramics, mixed media and conceptual practices, the exhibition explores three central themes: women, everyday life, and Cyprus as a bridge and crossroads of the Mediterranean.

The exhibition presents Cyprus not simply as a geographical place, but as a living cultural landscape shaped by memory, migration, resilience and creativity. Landscapes, fragments of history, personal narratives and contemporary artistic expression come together to form a dialogue between past and present, homeland and diaspora.

Artists shaped by diverse journeys and lived experiences work side by side within the same space, creating a plurality of voices that reflects the richness and complexity of Cypriot identity today.

Following the tour, audiences are invited to remain at Cyprus House for a Q&A conversation with Dr Marios Papadopoulos at 7:00pm, Artistic Director of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, offering further reflection on culture, creativity and artistic dialogue.
