A monthly expressive writing session aimed at deepening self-awareness, self-understanding and self-connection.
About this Event

An informal, friendly, therapeutic creative writing group (of no more than 8 participants). No writing experience necessary.

May's theme: Surprised by Joy

This workshop is also available online on the first Sunday of the month at 4.30pm.

This ongoing monthly therapeutic/expressive writing group is for anyone who enjoys (or thinks they might enjoy) writing for pleasure or to develop self-awareness, self-understanding and self-connection. Using prose excerpts, poetry, images and other prompts, this group invites you to explore your inner and outer worlds through writing. Sharing your writing is always optional but the invitation is there to share and discuss your writing or discoveries with others.

The aim of the workshop is to enable participants to enhance their well-being through emotional expression and illumination. Why not make a date with yourself on the first Thursday of the month, to enhance your sense of well-being and self-connection through writing?

What you will need: if you have a favourite notepad you like to write in, please bring it, but paper and pens are provided.

The Writers Workshop’s space in Orchard Square, Sheffield, has no step-free access. However, accessibility is important to us, and we have partnered with a nearby venue to facilitate access to our events.

Step-free access tickets are available to purchase until 3 working days (Monday to Friday) prior to the event.

Please note: these workshops are for adults aged 18 and over. Refunds are only available up to 7 days before the event.

Please do try to arrive at the session on time. It isn't always possible to admit late comers to the session.
