LYR’s Therapeutic Arts Workshops utilize the exercises in our original therapeutic artwork books in a group setting with the guidance of LYR founder Angela Page.
Each workshop offers opportunities for exploration and self-discovery via writing, visual art, music, and meditation. Course participants will each receive a copy of the workbook used during the workshop.
Workshop 5 utilizes Issue 18: Creature Feature, which contains 3 activities and 1 guided meditation all about facing the monster that lurks within. Materials required for this workshop: a cell phone that can stream audio from a website and headphones.
Welcome to Love Your Rebellion Issue 18: Creature Feature. Here is a snapshot of the activities that will be offered during this workshop:
Activity 1: Science Fiction Triple Feature – investigate where thoughts and feelings about monsters come from via guided meditation.
Activity 2: Pod People – develop the skill of self-compassion via a character building activity.
Activity 3: Dr. Frankenstein’s Monster – develop the skill of moving from judgement to curiosity via the monster’s origin story.
Activity 4: The Flayed – dismantle the relationship between good and evil via a series of prompts.
