About this Event
The Theatre Foundation Programme is a 15 Week Programme with 3 theoretical contact days. The programme provides a framework for registered nurses to support their transition (from general clinical settings) to the Perioperative Department. The programme captures the changing nature of competency development and provides concrete evidence of competence in perioperative practice.
The programme takes place over a period of fifteen weeks. Three theoretical days are incorporated into the fifteen week period. Clinical competencies are achieved in the participant parent hospital under the supervision of a mentor. Mentors are nominated by the CNM2/CNM3 of each sites perioperative department.
Application Requirements:
- Active Registration on the NMBI Register (Proof of same to be brought on Day 1)
-Current employment in the Perioperative Environment
-Commitment to develop competencies in the site specific workplace over a 15 week period.
-Commitment and availability to attend the 3 Compulsory Theoretical Days on:
Saturday 11th January 2025
Saturday 25th January 2025
Saturday 08th February 2025
-Permission from current employer to attend programme.
-Commitment to secure and work with a mentor in site specific workplace for the duration of the Theatre Foundation Programme.
-Commitment to complete competency booklet and submit to the course co-ordinators by the required deadline.
NB. The programme is undertaken over a 15 week period. Attendance at the 3 Theoretical Days is a compulsory requirement in order to successfully complete the course.
