Theatre 308 Presents You Can't Take It With You
Theatre 308, Darien High School’s award-winning theater club, is just one week away from kicking off the 2026-2027 season! This year, we invite you to join us for the comedic classic, You Can't Take It With You! One of America’s most beloved and popular comedies, this valentine to an eccentric family has delighted audiences from schools and universities to Broadway for decades. Grandma Vanderhof lives “just around the corner from Columbia University – but don’t go looking for it.” Grandma is the matriarch of an extended, loving, and eccentric family which includes a daughter who fancies herself a playwright; her husband, an amateur fireworks expert; their daughter, an untalented ballerina; her husband, a xylophone player and avid printer; a maid and her close friend who's on relief; and a ballet teacher who was chased from Soviet Russia. When Alice, Grandma's other granddaughter, a loving girl who is a bit embarrassed by her family’s eccentricities, falls for her boss's son, Tony, a handsome heir of Wall Street, she fears that their two families – so unlike in manner – will never come together. And that’s when the fireworks begin…
Tickets are now on sale for the entire Darien community, and you can get them at our website: http://www.theatre308.org. The show runs for one week only, November 12th, 13th, and 14th, with all performances starting at 7 pm. Please support our 20 on-stage performers, as well as dozens of student designers and crew members putting on this American classic!
