In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, how does one decide to make a change?

How do we know when it's time to begin something new?

Why do some people start a new quest and never look back, while others require a second, third, or even tenth attempt before the lesson finally sticks?

As children, we spend our lives learning. We fall, fail, adapt, and try again. Yet somewhere along the way, many of us become reluctant beginners. We avoid unfamiliar skills, fear looking foolish, and convince ourselves that certain paths are no longer meant for us.

But what if the ability to begin again is a skill in itself?

What if growth requires us to become comfortable being inexperienced?

What if the person you are today is different from the person who made decisions for you five years ago?

This month, we'll explore the topic of new beginnings, second chances, lifelong learning, and the courage required to step into the unknown. We'll examine what it means to meet the present moment honestly and make decisions based on who you are now, rather than who you used to be.

Through Vanderbilt's work, we'll also challenge the assumption that learning is something reserved for the young. Why do we stop picking up new skills as adults? Is it fear of failure? A concern for how we appear to others? Or have we simply forgotten the joy that comes from being a beginner?

Whether you're starting a new career, rebuilding a habit, learning a new skill, or finding your way back to something you once loved, this month's theme is an invitation to begin.
