Description: TWM is an evidence-based, interactive workshop designed to increase awareness and reduce stigma around mental health, so that leaders are able to better support themselves, and support others.

SFU is committed to fostering a healthy and psychologically safe environment that enables individual and collective well-being for all staff and faculty across the University.

This workshop aims to promote mental health, reduce stigma around mental illness, and create a more supportive work environment.

This accredited workshop, developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, will be delivered by Dawn Barroso, Lead, Well-being Strategy & Initiatives, and members from the Organizational Health & Well-being team.

Course Outline

Sensitive content: Module 2 includes a 20-30 minute discussion on suicide. We recognize this may be a difficult topic, and we encourage you to do what you need for your well-being, including stepping out of the room if needed to support your needs. Throughout the training, we also encourage self-care in whatever way works best for you

IMPORTANTE TO KNOW

Participants are expected to attend both half day sessions in order to receive the certificate of completion from the Mental Health Commission of Canada

Please do what you need to support your participation and learning throughout the day and please feel free to bring your own snacks as needed to ensure you remain nourished and energized through your learning.

If you have accessibility requests, please don’t hesitate to email Dawn at [email protected] to support you
