We're screening more than 35 films from international working class filmmakers in a three day festival from Fri 8 - Sun 10 May.Genre goes far beyond the kitchen sink, with fantastical imagined futures of life, death and work, ground-breaking documentaries and experimental shorts.
The festival is bookended by two of the most important British films depicting working class living. Horace Ové’s Pressure, which remains just as honest and defiant 50 years on; and Kes, Ken Loach's adaptation of Barry Hines's novel, which a symbol of Northern storytelling. We're delighted to welcome David 'Dai' Bradley in a post-film Q&A.
