The Woodpeckers play early swing from 1910 to 1930s: “In a highly improvisatory, good-humored, spontaneous, conversational and interactive style we interpret the exhilarating music of that time, when jazz was being born; embraced and celebrated by young and old,” says Walter Slowinski, clarinetist and bandleader.
The Woodpeckers quartet includes: Ron Kelley on tenor sax and vocals; Walter Slowinski on clarinet and vocals; Ty Gibbons on upright bass and vocals; and Mark Anagnostopulos on rhythm guitar and vocals.
