We're off to see the wizard! Come and join us over the rainbow and audition for a chance to be a part of the magic in ABOB's production of "The Wizard of Oz"!Auditions are March 28 from 6-8 p.m., & March 30 from 2-4 p.m.
Performance dates are June 6-8, 13-15 & 20-22.
ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE!
Directed by Eric Slayton & Josie Vano.
Please come prepared with short cut of ANY song of your choice, you can bring sheet music, a karaoke track (a Bluetooth speaker will be provided), or sing it a cappella! Anything that you feel best shows off your range and skills. Auditioners will be asked to read sides from the script.
The roles of Miss Almira Gulch / The Wicked Witch of the West & Professor Chester Marvel/ The Wizard of Oz are non-singing roles. if you are auditioning for one of these parts, you do not have to come to auditions with a song, you will only be asked to read from the script.

DOROTHY GALE: female, (Mezzo/Mix) Young Kansas girl, earnest, expressive, and strong-willed, in search of something more.
HUNK / SCARECROW: male/female (Baritone) Plucky and clever in a pinch, even while lacking a brain. Strong actor with an honest quality. Acrobatic skills a bonus but not required.
HICKORY / TIN MAN: male/female (Baritone/Tenor) Desperate for a heart. A kind-hearted romantic. must be able to wear heavy armored suit.
ZEKE / COWARDLY LION: male/female (Baritone) A mix of bravado and cowardice. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing.
ALMIRA GULTCH / WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST: female/male Character villain with an over-the-top stage presence. Excellent comic actress that has a killer cackle. Non-Singing.
PROFESSOR MARVEL / THE WIZARD: male older father figure with an eccentric flair. Basic conjuring or sleight of hand a bonus. Non-Singing.
GLINDA: female/male (Soprano) Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and beloved.
AUNT EM: female, Aunt Em is demanding but loves her niece.
UNCLE HENRY: male, Dorothy’s pleasant uncle.
EMERALD CITY GUARD: male/female (Baritone) Strong comic actor, big presence.
MUNCHKINS: boys and girls, The people of Munchkinland. Long oppressed, and happy to be freed, the Munchkins will (mostly) be played by children. Group singing and coordinated movement required. Dance experience a plus. There are some featured roles among the munchkins, such as The Coroner, The Lollipop Guild, and The Lullaby League.
WINKIES / FLYING MONKEYS / OZIANS / POPPIES / ADULT MUNCHKINS: The adult chorus of the show, with featured
speaking/vocal/dancing roles available. Singing and movement required.
JITTERBUGS: male/female, dance experience required, preferably swing dancing.
