A MAGICKAL DAY OUT!
Join dark historian Andrew Johnston of Alternative Ulstours for an informative and entertaining guided coach tour exploring Northern Ireland's witchy past.
Hear shocking tales of conjuration and demonomania, as we follow a winding trail of historical horror from Belfast to Islandmagee - aka 'Ireland's Salem'.
• Visit the scene of a fatal 'bewitching' in Carnmoney
• See where Antrim town's 'witches' fell victim to the mob
• Discover Antrim's Round Tower and legendary 'Witch's Stone'
• Be privy to the sorcery of Galgorm Castle's 'Devil Doctor'
• Darken the domain of Ballycastle's 'Witch of Glentow'
• Summon the dreaded 'Black Nun' of Bonamargy Friary
• Walk amongst the ruins of Ardclinis Church (and bring an offering to hang on the healing rag tree, if you wish!)
• Learn all about the Islandmagee witch trials, including new revelations
• Travel through Islandmagee to a number of significant locations in the story
• Pay your respects at Islandmagee's controversial 'witches' memorial
• Tread where Carrickfergus's old courthouse and prison once stood
• Brave the former site of the notorious Three Sisters gallows
• Stock up on witchcraft supplies at Mystiques Enchantments, Belfast's 'home of magick'!
Please note:
• The tour starts outside Belfast (St Anne's) Cathedral on Donegall Street in Belfast city centre, where your guide will be waiting for you
• Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time
• The tour will last eight hours and will feature some walking, including on hilly, rough and potentially wet ground
• Please advise us in advance of any relevant mobility issues or health conditions
• The tour ends at Mystiques Enchantments on Winetavern Street in Belfast city centre, where you are welcome to browse for up to 30 minutes
