About this Event
Burgundy is one of the most complex and fascinating regions of France! The easy part is that they only grow TWO grapes (at least 99% of the wines). If you are drinking white wine, and it is from Burgundy, you can be sure it is made from 100% chardonnay. If you are drinking red wine, and it is from Burgundy, you can be sure it is made from 100% pinot noir. The wines from this region are named after their geographic appellation or village in which they are produced (like Macon-Villages, Chablis, Pouilly-Fuissé, Givry or Vougeot to name a few). Every village is said to have its own character or “terroir”, even two that are right across the street from each other! This makes Burgundy a land of many “microclimates”, and a land of many unique and wonderful wines. We’ll open some good stuff!
