The Windjammer Chess Club

We’re excited to host Royal Wharf's very own Windjammer Chess Club! This is a relaxed and welcoming evening open to all skill levels — whether you’re a seasoned player or completely new to the game. The goal is simple: enjoy chess, meet fellow residents, and have a great time together.

The events will run from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and we’ll provide all boards and chess pieces for the night. While we don’t yet have physical chess clocks, we kindly ask participants to download the free “Chess Clock by Chess.com” app (available on both Android and iOS) before attending. Your cooperation is hugely appreciated as we work toward getting proper clocks for future sessions.

There’s a limit of 20 players for the events to keep things manageable. If all spots fill up, please join the waitlist — not only might a space open if someone drops out, but it also helps us gauge interest so we can expand future events to accommodate more people.

The venue has kindly offered us the space free of charge, so we ask that everyone purchase at least a small item or drink from the pub as a gesture of thanks and support.

Whether you’re here to test your skills, learn the basics, or simply meet other chess enthusiasts in the Royal Wharf community, you’re very welcome to join.
