About this Event
Bloomsbury is well known for its educational and literary links, for the serenity of its squares and the studious tranquillity of its libraries and museums. But behind these, lie hidden histories of radicalism and reform, heroism and betrayal.
This walk will take us through the area’s beautiful garden squares and historic streets where we will unearth and explore the lesser told stories of Bloomsbury’s rule-breakers, risk-takers and radicals and meet these men and women – from VC holders to traitors, martyrs to medics, the godless to the godly – who, by daring to be different, found themselves making history.
This walk is led by London Historians Member Rebecca Walker, retired London police officer and qualified London guide.
The walk will last about 1 hour 45 minutes and cover a distance of about 2 miles, ending at Bloomsbury Square, Camden WC1A 2RN
